Hello! I’m Dallas T. Kelley (Which you probably already knew since you’re on my website). 2021 was a pretty great year for video games. With all of the new releases, it’s difficult to stand above the others and earn a coveted Game of the Year award (GOTY). It’s even more difficult to earn the world’s first ever Game I Played of the Year award (GIPOTY).

It just so happens one game from 2021 earned both my GOTY and GIPOTY awards. As you’ve probably guessed it, my GIPOTY award enables me to give an award to any game I played within the year. And I certainly played a lot of video games in 2021.

The game that really stood out to me was an indie game by the name of Inscryption. This game was an absolute palate cleanse of a treat. Made by Daniel Mullins Games, I can truly say it’s one of the most unique and engaging games I’ve ever played.

It’s marketed as a horror deck-building rogue-lite game, but it turns into so much more. I won’t spoil anything for you here, as I think it’s best to experience this game with minimal knowledge. Let the game carry you down the river of delight as you discover how best to play it and witness the subtle story taking shape before your eyes.

If you would like to see a little of the gameplay without fear of spoilers, I’ve included my video announcement of my GOTY and GIPOTY awards below this blog post.

Congratulation to Daniel Mullins Games for earning both my Game of the Year award and the world’s first ever Game I Played of the Year award for the year 2021. I truly can’t wait to see what experience you bring us next.
